Everything Textiles Group

Our meetings take place at the Church House Hall from 10am to 1pm every other Monday. All skill levels are welcome and new ideas encouraged.  We work on a variety of projects suggested by group members. Ideas can come from any of us and we have a wealth of knowledge between us, which we all share. All help needed can be offered.

We also have some time to spend on our own projects, which are then shown to the rest of the group, for inspiration.

We work on several things in the course of the year. Some examples of recent projects are - fabric baskets of different sizes made from scraps of material, a draft excluder using applique, making an apron, making decorative paper card, Japanese rice bags and making Christmas crackers. Sometimes we work on specific techniques such as for example sewing in zips or exploring different stitches on a sewing machine etc.

During the year we hope to visit places of textile interest, starting with the Powis Castle exhibition of quilts by Kaffe Fassett.

New members are warmly welcome and for more information please email the group leader Jill Smith

For Reasons of insurance you must be a member of the U3A to join our Everything Textiles group.
