The Painting For Pleasure Group

Belan Locks scetch

This group meets monthly on the third Friday of the month at 10am. We currently meet at Liz Mathieson's house - Leat House, Mill Lane, Guildsfield. We will revert to the Old School in Guilsfield if numbers increase. We are not a teaching group, but meet simply for the satisfaction of putting paint on paper in an environment where there is nothing else calling for our attention, i.e. housework! We have all levels of expertise, and those who are really good pass on tips to those of us who are less so, so please do not feel you are not good enough to join us.

We all bring our own ideas to work on and use any media we are comfortable with, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, pen and ink - whatever we fancy doing. We have been to sketch at outside locations on a few occasions, the above sketch was done at one of our early outings to Belan Locks. We also had a pencil sketching workshop with one of our members which was instructive.

New Members Welcome:

We have plenty of room at the Old School to accommodate new members and we would welcome you joining us. For reasons of insurance you must be a member of the U3A to join our Painting For Pleasure Group. Our contact details are available at the monthly meetings and in the newsletter.
